"Hoffenheim always dangerous going forward"

There will be Monday night football at the Volkswagen Arena as the Wolves entertain Hoffenheim.

Wolfsburg round off Matchday 5 of the Bundesliga at home to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Monday evening (kick-off 20:30 CEST). In his pre-match press conference, VfL head coach Oliver Glasner discussed…

…personnel: “Elvis Rexhbecaj is ill. Everyone else who’s fit will be involved. Marcel Tisserand is also OK after his collision against Oleksandriya on Thursday.”

…Daniel Ginczek’s recovery: “Next week I’m expecting Daniel to start running outside. If all goes well, we’re hoping he’ll be available for one or two competitive games at the end of the year.”

…the opposition: “TSG want to be competing for the European places. We’ve looked at Hoffenheim closely and their recent results haven’t always reflected the game. They had a high number of shots on goal against Freiburg and they got into positions but couldn’t produce the finish. They’re always dangerous going forward, and in Ishak Belfodil and Ihlas Bebou they have two very good strikers. TSG frequently change their system, so it’s important that we always have an answer ready.”
…his team’s own performances: “We have to draw confidence from the win against Oleksandriya. We’ve had six games in all competitions so far and picked up four wins and two draws. We all have high expectations but we can be really pleased with that.”

…Josip Brekalo’s good form: “Before the start of the season, I spoke to Josip about his role at VfL and how we want to play. What pleases me is that he’s also doing a lot of work off the ball – he ran 11.9 kilometres at Düsseldorf. His development has been great. He’s playing more centrally now, where his goal threat, energy and strength in one-on-ones can be effective.”
