VfL Women earned a 2-1 victory against Czech champions Slavia Prague on Saturday in their second pre-season friendly of the summer. VfL managing directors Peter Christiansen and Dr. Tim Schumacher were also in attendance. The Green-and-Whites’ next friendly is in 14 days’ time, on Saturday 10 August at 14:00 CEST, against Dutch champions FC Twente at the Sportpark DSVD in Deurningen (Netherlands).
Friendly win in Calberlah
“A great atmosphere”
Tommy Stroot: “It was a successful friendly for us. We won the game and were very dominant in spells. On the whole, we looked stable. Defensively we were sharp. Some movement patterns are still lacking when we’re in possession, but that’s understandable. That’s something we’ll work on after the upcoming week off. Overall there was a great atmosphere in Calberlah, the fans were close to the action and gave instant feedback to every situation. The club put in a lot of effort to make sure everyone had a great day and I think everyone really enjoyed the game too.”
