VfL Wolfsburg’s first friendly of the summer has been confirmed: on Thursday 30 July, the Wolves will travel to Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig. The game will kick off at 16:00 CEST at the Saxony club’s training ground, and will be played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eight days before that, the Green-and-Whites will report back in Wolfsburg after their brief summer break. First on the agenda are the two mandatory coronavirus tests, before training starts on the weekend of 25/26 July. The serious business starts on Wednesday 5 August when the Wolves travel to Kiev for the second leg of their UEFA Europa League last-16 clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, with kick-off scheduled for 18:55 CEST.
