First Team

Final say

Facts and figures after Sunday’s clash with SV Werder Bremen.

Another lead that we failed to hold on to! For the fourth time this season, the Wolves found themselves in front but could not convert that into three points. Yesterday’s 2-2 draw against Bremen saw Niko Kovac’s team turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead, but they had to be content with a point at the end of the day. Here is a breakdown of what happened on Matchday 10.

Five points off Europe

The Green-and-Whites at least managed to stem the flow after losing their last three league games. It leaves them in ninth place, five points behind of Hoffenheim in sixth.

First draw: The result was the first draw of the season for both VfL and Bremen.

First sending-off:  Maxence Lacroix picked up his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute to record the team’s first dismissal of the season – and his fourth in a Wolves shirt.

Man of the Match again:Kevin Paredes was once again named Man of the Match. As was the case after the Augsburg game, the US dribbling wizard – who scored VfL’s second goal – picked up the most fan votes (57 per cent). Well done, Kevin!
