DFB Cup derby against Hannover 96

VfL Wolfsburg will travel to Lower Saxony neighbours Hannover 96 in the second round of the DFB Cup.

The DFB Cup draw, which took place on Sunday at the German Football Museum in Dortmund, has handed the Wolves a local derby against their Bundesliga rivals, one of 16 second-round ties to be played on 30/31 October. The exact date and kick-off time of the game will be confirmed in due course and communicated through the club's official channels.

Two previous DFB Cup derbies

The Lower Saxony sides have met twice before in this competition, although on both occasions the game took place in Wolfsburg. VfL triumphed 3-0 in the first round in 1987, and were 1-0 winners in the second round last season thanks to Felix Ohis Uduokhai's second-half goal.

Bruno Labbadia's troops reached this stage courtesy of a 1-0 victory at SV Elversberg 07 in the first round; Hannover won 6-0 at third-tier Karlsruher SC.
