VfL Wolfsburg have announced another departure shortly before the end of the January transfer window, with centre-back Jeffrey Bruma moving on loan to Bundesliga rivals Schalke, who are currently 12th in the table. The 27-year-old joined the Green-Whites from PSV Eindhoven in summer 2016 but he made just 31 Bundesliga appearances during an injury-plagued spell, scoring one goal.
Bruma is the third player to depart the club during this window after Paul Seguin joined second-tier side Greuther Fürth on loan and Jakub Blaszczykowski's contract was terminated by mutual consent.
