VfL Wolfsburg Women rounded out what has been a jam-packed schedule over the last two weeks with an 8-0 victory over in-form SV Werder Bremen in the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga.
Rebecka Blomqvist hit a hat-trick for the Green-and-Whites in front of 3,077 fans at the AOK Stadion, while Alexandra Popp and Ewa Pajor both struck twice and Tabea Waßmuth was also on the scoresheet.
As a result the She-Wolves remain second in the league table, one point behind Bayern Munich, who won 2-0 at SV Meppen earlier in the day. VfL head to Munich in their first game after the international break when they play at the FC Bayern Campus in the DFB Cup semi-finals on Saturday 15 April (kick-off: 14:00 CEST), hoping to exact a measure of revenge for the recent 1-0 league defeat.

Reaction
Tommy Stroot: “It’s something very special that the score ended up being 8-0. We played well and you could tell that the girls were really up for the game. I was very pleased to see that after the intensive past few weeks.”
