VfL forward and Germany international Alexandra Popp will miss her country’s UEFA Women’s Nations League fixture against Wales on Friday (kick-off 17:45 CEST) due to muscular complaints.
Caretaker head coach Horst Hrubesch confirmed the news at a pre-match press conference on Thursday.
Following the game at the PreZero-Arena in Sinsheim, Popp will return to Wolfsburg and will play no part in Germany’s game against Iceland on Tuesday 31 October.
