In order to help children and parents fight off boredom during this school-free time, the WölfiClub has distributed gift bags to its approximately 3,500 members in the region since the beginning of the week.
Noelle Maritz, Dominique Janssen, Kevin Mbabu, Paulo Otavio and, of course, Wölfi took to the road to deliver the packages on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing double joy to the WölfiClub kids. The Green-and-Whites made sure to practice social distancing and wore protective masks as they handed over autograph cards and small presents.
The children’s joy was shared by Mbabu, who was delighted to be involved in the visits: “It was a great thing to do. It was a lot fun surprising the kids and to see the happiness on their faces. It was a nice change from everyday life for them and for us.”
VfL Women defender Maritz echoed that view: “It was really great to see the kids’ reactions, and also those of their parents. They were so happy to receive a small present. It was really nice to be part of this initiative and to be able to bring some joy to the children.”
