Wolf tracks on Saturday

Recovery after friendly game / Sunday free / Roussillon the sweeper.

The Wolves have been in Portugal since Thursday as they hone their preparations for the resumption of the Bundesliga season.

Post-match recovery: Following VfL's 3-2 friendly success over TSG Hoffenheim on Friday, recovery work was the primary focus of the team's training session on Saturday morning. While the goalkeepers completed a separate programme out on the training complex in Almancil, the outfield players jogged some laps before returning to the hotel, although a number of them also worked out in the gym prior to doing so.

Roussillon turns sweeper: As was the case with Mattias Svanberg, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, Jerome Roussillon was serenaded by teammates and staff on his 30th birthday on Friday. But that was not all: as is customary in northern Germany, Roussillon also had to use a mini broom to sweep the dining all of not-so-accidentally dropped crumbs and dirt – but did so with aplomb. He also received several joke gifts from his teammates.

Day off on Sunday: The Green-and-Whites resume training in Almancil on Monday, after being given a free day on Sunday by head coach Niko Kovac.
