VfL Wolfsburg Women have three friendlies on the calendar as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2022/23 campaign, and they won the first of them 2-1 against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven to conclude their training camp in Harsewinkel.

Tabea Waßmuth scored both goals for Tommy Stroot’s side in front of 650 enthusiastic fans in the Westphalian town of Beckum, with former She-Wolf Joelle Smits on target for PSV.

The team’s next match is on Friday 26 August (kick-off 18:00 CEST / live on Wölfe TV) when the Green-and-Whites take on Brondby IF in the Danish town of Sonderborg.

Reaction:

Tommy Stroot: “There were periods when we could have done so much better with our moves. But we haven’t looked at those things in any great detail in training yet as we’re using the time for the players to find their rhythm and understanding with each other. There were positives to take from the game today as well – we created a number of chances. But we can certainly go up a gear or two.”
