VfL learn potential Europa League opponents

If they progress beyond the last 16, the Wolves will face Eintracht Frankfurt or FC Basel in the quarter-finals.

As things stand, this means that VfL Wolfsburg will play their second leg against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukraine, on Wednesday 5 August at 18.55 CEST at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.

Basel or Frankfurt in the last eight

If the Wolves manage to overturn the narrow 2-1 deficit from the first leg, they will play the winners of the last-16 tie between FC Basel and Eintracht Frankfurt on 10 or 11 August. It has yet to be confirmed at which of the four venues in North Rhine-Westphalia (Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen or Cologne) the one-legged quarter-final match will be held.

Potential semi-final opponents also confirmed

If VfL were to reach the semi-finals, they would face either Inter Milan, FC Getafe, Bayer 04 Leverkusen or Glasgow Rangers on 16 or 17 August. The final will be held in Cologne on 21 August.
