Until 2019 plus option

Sebastian Jung stays with the Wolves.

VfL Wolfsburg have extended their existing contract with right full-back Sebastian Jung until June 30th, 2019, with the option of extended for a further year until June 30th, 2020. Moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2014, the 27-year-old has made a total of 51 competitive appearances for the Wolves. "We are delighted that 'Sebi' will be remaining on board beyond this summer. He is extremely eager to make a new start with VfL, having had to deal with so many injuries throughout 2017. Now he is back and determined to play his part in us achieving our goals," explained VfL Sporting director Olaf Rebbe. During the first half of the season, injury and extended rehabilitation phases meant Jung only got a run out in the DFB-Cup win over Nuremberg shortly before Christmas.

"Long drought"

"I’ve a long drought behind me, which wasn’t easy, but I battled on through and never allowed myself to get bogged down by the situation. Now we start over again. I would like to thank VfL for having fate in me for the future," stated Sebastian Jung.
