Pavao Pervan has committed his future to the Wolves beyond the end of the current season after extending his contract, which was due to expire this summer, by two more years until the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The 34-year-old Austrian, who has won seven caps for his country, has made 30 appearances for VfL in all competitions since joining the club from LASK in 2018.
“Happy and grateful”
“My family and I have felt very much at home in Wolfsburg from day one and everything’s just right at VfL too, so I’m very happy that my VfL journey will continue for some time and I’m looking forward to what’s to come,” said Pervan. “I’m very happy and grateful that I can continue playing and training at this high level and I’ll do everything I can to help us get back to winning ways as quickly as possible.”
Sporting director Marcel Schäfer described Pervan’s extension as the logical next step in the goalkeeper’s career at the club. “It was always clear to us that we wanted to keep working with Pavo,” he said. “Not only because he’s 100 per cent reliable at all times and gives his all in every training session, but because he’s also an integral and important member and pillar of the team.”
