The youth-programme of the VfL women again bears fruit! Following the long-term contract extension of promising young goalkeeper Melina Loeck, a home-grown talent from the Lady-Wolves Under 23s, as from this summer, Anna-Lena Stolze joins head-coach Stephen Lerch’s Bundesliga team, having signed a three-year extension with the Green-Whites until 2021.
Stolze promoted, Wullaert bids farewell
The 17-year-old attacker, who made the move to VfL Wolfsburg from ATSV Stockelsdorf in 2015, initially began with the Lady-Wolves Under 17s, scoring 25 goals in just 17 matches. Since 2015, the player from Ostholstein has been active with VfL’s Under 23s in the second division – netting 15 times in 26 matches. In addition, the repeated German youth international trains regularly with the Lady-Wolves Bundesliga team and has participated in several training camps.
As from the new season, Stolze, who completes her high-school education in 2019, will be a permanent fixture in the Lady-Wolves Bundesliga squad, where she should ultimately succeed Tessa Wullaert. The Belgian international declined the offer of a contract extension from VfL and will leave Wolfsburg at the end of the current season.
