The VfL women notched up a comfortable 5-0 (1-0) win over SC Huelva.

The VfL Ladies.

As part of their winter training-camp, on Wednesday afternoon, the Lady-Wolves played a test-friendly against Spanish first division side SC Huelva and ran out eventual 5-0 (1-0) winners. The goals for the Green-Whites were scored by Zsanett Jakabfi (28’), Alexandra Popp (46’), Pernille Harder (54’) and a brace from Tessa Wullaert (63’, 88’).

VfL head-coach Stephan Lerch: It was clear to see that we have some intensive training sessions behind us and that we are not yet getting the absolute maximum from ourselves. We put pressure on and every individual gave their all – that’s what we want to see. We wanted to find solutions and create chances on goal – which we managed to do over long periods. The final pass didn’t always find its destination, but that’s something we can work on. I am very satisfied with the attitude of the players and that’s something we can build on.

VfL Wolfsburg: Schult – Maritz (86' Wittje), Fischer (46' Wedemeyer), Goeßling (86' Wensing), Peter (46' Blässe) –  Gunnarsdottir (60' Neto) – Wullaert, Harder (60' Bernauer), Dickenmann (75' Kerschowski) – Jakabfi (46' Masar), Popp (75' Minde)

Goals: 1-0 Jakabfi (28'), 2-0 Popp (46'), 3-0 Harder (54'), 4-0 Wullaert (63'), 5-0 Wullaert (88')
