Solidarity at the Wolves New Year reception

VfL Wolfsburg greet guests in the castle / Official start to 2018.

The traditional New Year’s start for VfL Wolfsburg was again a diverse event. On Sunday, January 21st, some 120 guests gathered in 'Schloss Wolfsburg' (Wolfsburg Castle) and were treated to musical entertainment by the band "Müßiggang Duo". The participants were greeted by Steffen Grupp, Director of Sponsoring and Events. Aside from partners and sponsors, along with accompaniment, the event was joined by VfL management-duo Dr. Tim Schumacher and Wolfgang Hotze, Sporting director Olaf Rebbe, head-coach Martin Schmidt and team-council representatives Ignacio Camacho, Paul Verhaegh, Maximilian Arnold, Josuha Guilavogui, Robin Knoche and Max Grün.

Unified in bad times as well as good

The New Year is always representative of new beginnings, with resolutions and newly pursued targets. The previous year was an eventful and emotional one for VfL – in 2018, the club has new goals, with young players who all identify with the club. Chatting with managers Dr. Tim Schumacher and Wolfgang Hotze, before later discussing the important topics with Olaf Rebbe, Martin Schmidt and Maximilian Arnold, great thanks were expressly made to the supporters of VfL, who got behind the Green-Whites, particularly in recent months and displayed their unyielding belief in the Bundesliga side as a unit. In short: A valuable partnership, during which all pull together during sportingly difficult phases.

Self-critically in their analysis, those responsible at the club discussed the unsuccessful home start to the year at the Volkswagen Arena against Eintracht Frankfurt. Looking to the tasks ahead, the plan is to continue operating courageously as a team. The event was concluded with a slide-show of pictures from the Wolves most recent outings.
