VfL Wolfsburg Women recorded an important victory on Matchday 4 of the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga thanks to a 2-0 triumph over promoted side RB Leipzig. The result lifted the Green-and-Whites to the top of the table with a two-point advantage over second place.

Ewa Pajor (38') and Vivien Endemann (79') got the goals for VfL in front of 10,269 spectators at Leipzig's Red Bull Arena against a deep-lying home side who made life difficult for the She-Wolves' front line.

Goals

0-1 Pajor (38'): Pajor lays the ball off to Jule Brand, who shoots from 13 metres out. Leipzig's goalkeeper Elvira Herzog saves it but the rebound falls to Pajor, who opens the scoring for VfL.

0-2 Endemann (79'): With Leipzig applying pressure going forward, the Green-and-Whites score a decisive second goal. Felicitas Rauch plays a long ball forward to Endemann, who controls it well in a central position before coolly slotting home.

Reaction

Tommy Stroot: "It was a difficult game, as expected, in front of a great crowd. For us, it was all about getting the three points and we managed that with our 2-0 win."
