Rolfö joins She-Wolves

VfL Wolfsburg Ladies have completed the signing of Swedish attacker Fridolina Rolfö.

The VfL women’s team have made their fifth new signing for the coming season after completing a deal for Fridolina Rolfö from Bundesliga rivals FC Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old attacker joins the newly crowned double winners on a two-year contract.

Raised in a suburb of Gothenburg, Rolfö donned the colours of Swedish giants Linköpings FC from 2014 to 2016, winning back-to-back domestic cups (2014, 2015) and a league title (2016) before joining Bayern in January 2017. She has scored 18 goals in 40 Allianz Women’s Bundesliga appearances to date, as well as netting eight times in 34 outings for the Swedish national team. Her greatest triumph at international level so far was winning a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“Exciting new challenge”

“I’m really looking forward to a very exciting new challenge at VfL, with whom I intend to improve as an athlete and as a person,” said Rolfö. “The She-Wolves have developed into one of the biggest brands in women’s football in recent years and it’ll be an honour to help them achieve their ambitions, particularly on the European stage. I had a wonderful time at FC Bayern Munich and for that I want to thank my team-mates, the fans and the board with all my heart. I also want to thank the board at VfL for putting their trust in me.”
