"Optimal conditions"

The Wolves have completed their training-camp in Marbella and are on their way back home.

On Monday morning, VfL head-coach Martin Schmidt and his team took to the pitch at their training-camp in Marbella one final time. In the pouring rain on the Costa del Sol, the players initially trained on the ball, before the coach put his men through their paces with an endurance session. In interval-runs, the Wolves covered constant laps of the rain-drenched pitch. Following their afternoon meal, the VfL crew then headed for the airport in Malaga, from where they catch their flight to Braunschweig, before the Wolves then make their way back home to Wolfsburg.

"Intensive sessions"

In the past, Schmidt often set up his winter training-camp quarters with his former clubs in Marbella and he was again happy with the choice of location for the training-camp in 2018: "The conditions at the facility here are optimal and, this year, on the important days we even enjoyed some sunshine." And from what he saw from his men on the training grounds, the Swiss coach was also distinctly satisfied. "We had a lot of intensive sessions and two wins against St. Pauli and Dynamo Dresden) in our two test-friendlies," noted the 50-year-old, drawing a positive conclusion.
