"One of the best clubs"

VfL winter-signing Claudia Neto has been in training with the Lady-Wolves since December. The ten-day training-camp close to the Portuguese city of Faro is the midfielder’s first major highlight in the Green-White. Additionally, it’s something of a trip home for Neto, who was born just 100 kilometres from where VfL are holding their winter preparations. "It’s really wonderful to be home. I have made use of what little free-time I had to visit my family. It’s only about an hour’s drive from here," explained the new number 5 on the benefits of undertaking a training-camp in her homeland.

"Not here to enjoy ourselves"

However, due to the packed training-schedule, free-time has been kept to a minimum – which is no problem for the 29-year-old: "The training is very intensive. We are not here to enjoy ourselves though, but rather to work hard." And why did the Portuguese international opt for a move from Swedish top-team Linköpings FC to Wolfsburg? "VfL is one of the best clubs in the world and the best place for me to develop further," insisted Neto, adding: "My first impressions of the team are very good - the level is really high."

Well integrated

At the beginning of the winter-preparations, the Portuguese midfielder was forced to take things a little easier and undertook an individual programme. "From my time in Linköping, I was still carrying a slight knock, but now I can fully participate in training again. I am feeling even better from day-to-day," explained Neto, who is already very much part of the team unit.
