On international duty

The Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga takes a break / 15 Lady-Wolves on the road.

For several of VfL's female players, the next couple of weeks will be spent in the ranks of their respective national teams. Following last Saturday's 2-0 win over SC Sand, the Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga initially takes a break to accommodate international action in three tournaments, involving 15 Lady-Wolves. The next competitive game for the Green-Whites takes place on Wednesday, March 14th (kick-off 18:00 CET), at the quarter-final stage of the DFB-Cup, in a repeat of the final from the past two years, with SC Sand as guests in the AOK Stadion.

DFB women travel to the USA

Between March 1st and 7th, the SheBelieves Cup takes place in the USA. There the German national team will face hosts USA (March 2nd, 01:00 CET), England (March 4th, 21:00 CET) and last year's winners France (March 7th, 22:00). The German women's team on duty America includes Almuth Schult, Anna Blässe, Babett Peter, Lena Goeßling and Alexandra Popp.

Five Lady-Wolves in Portugal

At the Algarve Cup in Portugal, a total of five Lady-Wolves will be active, with Pernille Harder (Denmark), Sara Björk Gunnarsdottir (Iceland), Caroline Hansen, Kristine Minde (both Norway) and Claudia Neto (Portugal) in action with their respective national teams.

Further tournament in Cyprus

The Swiss trio of Lara Dickenmann, Vanessa Bernauer and Noelle Maritz are to participate in a mini-tournament. Along the same lines as the Algarve Cup, the Cypriots will host the Cyprus Women᾽s Cup. Further participants in the tournament include Belgium, for whom Tessa Wullaert has been nominated, and Hungary, with Zsanett Jakabfi.
