A bitter blow for Lukas Nmecha and VfL Wolfsburg: the forward sustained a serious injury to his right ankle in Tuesday night’s 3-2 defeat to 1. FC Köln and will be sidelined for several weeks. The scorer of the Wolves’ first goal against Köln, who also celebrated his 23rd birthday that day, incurred the injury in a challenge with Benno Schmitz and had to be taken off in the 65th minute.
