Managing director Michael Meeske has committed to VfL Wolfsburg for a further three years. The 50-year-old, who is responsible for the commercial areas at the Wolves, has extended his contract until 30 June 2025. Meeske joined the club from 1. FC Nürnberg in November 2018. “The contract extension is another sign of continuity for us,” said supervisory board chairman Frank Witter. “In his three years in office so far, Michael Meeske has pushed forward many things in his departments and played his part in keeping VfL in calm waters, even during this difficult period of the pandemic.”

“Exciting and challenging range of tasks”

Meeske is responsible for the areas of marketing, sales as well as finance and accounting at VfL Wolfsburg. He pledged in particular to “further strengthen regional connection, while at the same time increasing VfL Wolfsburg’s international relevance”. Meeske added: “These points are really close to my heart and I firmly believe that they will also be vital for a successful future for VfL. Overall I have an exciting and challenging range of tasks, which I want to continue to dedicate myself to with full commitment. I look forward to continuing to drive forward VfL Wolfsburg’s development together with my team, my fellow managing directors and the whole organisation.”
