Janogy contract cancelled

Winter recruit not coming back to VfL Wolfsburg.

The contract tying Madelen Janogy to VfL Wolfsburg until 30 June 2021 has been cancelled by mutual consent. The Swedish international has been back in her home country for health reasons ever since the season was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Janogy joined VfL during the winter break from Swedish club Pitea IF and appeared for the She-Wolves in various friendlies and in a second-division match for the U-20s.

“Grateful for the support”

“I’m very grateful for the support that those in charge at VfL have given me,” the player said. “The way in which the club has handled my situation underlines how professionally VfL Wolfsburg operates while not losing sight of the personal aspect.“

“Agreed to her wishes without hesitation“

“It is a real shame to have to say goodbye to Madelen after just six months,” said Ralf Kellermann, sporting director of VfL Women. “We would have loved to have had her with us for the new season, but we agreed to her wishes to bring an early end to the contract without hesitation. We would like to wish Madelen all the best for the future, in particular regarding her health.”
