The sun was beating down from a cloudless sky and the VfL pros were working up a sweat on their first day of training ahead of the 2019/2020 season. Over 800 keen supporters had also come along to cheer them on, but they were looking for somewhere, anywhere in the shade. After getting their first glimpse of the players under head coach Oliver Glasner, the faithful fans also got a refreshing surprise from Häagen Dasz, with the official ice cream partner of VfL Wolfsburg giving the supporters something extra to cheer about on this hot day in the shape of free treats.
This was the ideal opportunity for the Wolves and the US ice cream giants to celebrate extending their partnership for another two years, with the best news of all being that the delicious ice creams will now be on sale at the concession stands at the Volkswagen Arena at all home games.
