“Getting better with every week”

Nuria Rabano on the DFB Cup round of 16 tie against Werder Bremen and her development at Wolfsburg.

VfL-Wolfsburg-Spielerin Nuria Rabano lacht.

Nuria Rabano moved to Wolfsburg from FC Barcelona in the summer. The 24-year-old Spaniard has now found her feet in Germany and started in the last two league games against Duisburg and Freiburg. Ahead of the DFB Cup match against Werder Bremen on Friday 24 November (live from 18:00 CET on Wölfe TV), she talks about her progress, the whole team’s development and the clash with Bremen.

Nuria Rabano, you’ve been in Wolfsburg since the start of August – are you well settled now?

Nuria Rabano: “I think I’ve accustomed well to everything by now. The move to Wolfsburg was a big change for me, which was difficult. I had a lot of worries at the start, but now I can say I feel very comfortable here.”

You’ve evidently also arrived in a sporting sense, having started the last two games. How was that for you?

Nuria: “I was very pleased. For a few weeks, I’ve noticed in training that I’ve improved on many levels, and that feeling carries over to the pitch. I feel good and feel the support in the team. I also notice that the team is getting better with every week.”

Are cup competitions extra special for you?

Nuria: “I like every competition that we participate in. The atmosphere at the home matches is great, but our away matches in the other stadiums – which I don’t all know yet – are always special for me.”

You face a league rival in Werder Bremen on Friday. What kind of match are you expecting?

Nuria: “I’m expecting an even game overall, although I think we’ll have more possession. We want to make it very tough for Bremen with what we’ve been working on in training, playing out from our own half. Anything can happen in the cup. We want to continue the positive trend from the last two games. We’re really looking forward to this one.”
