Former Wolves assistant Michael Frontzeck has been placed in charge of VfL Wolfsburg on an interim basis following the departure of head coach Mark van Bommel on Sunday afternoon. The former Bundesliga player took training on Monday morning and will continue to do so until further notice.
Assistant coach Vincent Heilmann will remain at VfL, but Kevin Hofland – another assistant – and video analyst Alex Abresh have parted company with the club.
