FC Erzgebirge Aue, who finished 12th in Bundesliga 2 last season, will be the Wolves’ opponents for a friendly on 6 July at the AOK Stadion (kick-off at 16:00 CEST).

VfL had already arranged another two pre-season friendlies. On Saturday 10 July, the Champions League participants host Hansa Rostock, who were promoted back to Bundesliga 2 last season, then four days later they will face another second-tier club in Holstein Kiel. Both of those matches will also be played at the AOK Stadion and in good news for VfL fans, all the friendlies will be shown live on Wölfe TV.
