Directly following the afternoon training session on Friday, the Wolves will make their way to the land of the new world champions. In Stade Marcel-Verchère in Bourg-en-Bresse, head coach Bruno Labbadia’s men will play a friendly against seven-time French champions Olympique Lyon on Saturday, July 28th (kick-off 19:00 CEST, live on DAZN). In preparation for the up-coming 2018/2019 campaign, this will be the Green-Whites fifth friendly match – the first against top-flight opposition.
OL boast an evenly-balanced friendly record
Lyon are also currently in the midst of their pre-season preparations. The side that finished in third place in Ligue 1 last season, have played three friendly games thus far. OL first played out a 2-2 draw with FC Sion, followed by a win over FC Fulham (4-0) and a defeat to Huddersfield Town (1-3). Lyon begin their league campaign on August 12th.
