Facts and figures after the Wolves’ home win over SV Darmstadt 98.

Die Wölfe stehen Arm in Arm in einer Reihe vor der Nordkurve und feiern mit den Fans einen Sieg.

VfL Wolfsburg’s Bundesliga status is secure for next season after cruising to a comfortable 3-0 win against already-relegated Darmstadt on Saturday – their third victory in succession. The Wolves’ rivals near the bottom of the table all failed to win, meaning VfL can no longer slip into the bottom three.

Perfect start: The Wolves struck twice in the opening 11 minutes against the Lilies – their earliest 2-0 advantage since October 2015, when they raced into a two-goal lead after just seven minutes against TSG Hoffenheim.

Impact sub: Vaclav Cerny scored his fourth goal of the season in Saturday’s 3-0 triumph – and his first off the bench.

Wimmer finds a way: Patrick Wimmer scored the goal with the lowest xG on Matchday 32 (5.9 percent).

Wind strikes again: After registering his 11th goal of the campaign against Darmstadt, Jonas Wind has now scored as many goals in 2023/24 as he managed in his first 18 months with the Wolves.

Fifty and counting: Kevin Paredes was handed his 50th Bundesliga appearance after being named in the starting line-up on Saturday. Jakub Kaminski also had reason to celebrate against the Lilies after coming off the bench for his 50th competitive VfL appearance.

Milestone strike: Wind’s effort was the 500th goal scored by a home team in the Bundesliga this season.

On the rise under Hasenhüttl: The Green-and-Whites have won four of their six Bundesliga games under Ralph Hasenhüttl. They have now picked up more points (12) than VfB Stuttgart or Borussia Dortmund, among others, since the Austrian took charge.

Man of the Match: Wimmer’s eighth-minute effort paved the way for a comfortable VfL victory against Darmstadt. The Austrian international’s all-round display also impressed VfL supporters, who voted him Man of the Match with 41 percent of the ballot. Lovro Majer was second with 15 percent after providing the assist for Wind, who finished third with 13 percent.
