VfL Wolfsburg Women will go into the new season without Diana Nemeth. The contract between the Hungarian international and the record DFB Cup winners, which was set to run until 30 June 2027, has been terminated early. The 20-year-old defender, who moved to VfL from Ferencvaros in January 2024, will join RB Leipzig on 1 July. Nemeth made five appearances in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga for the Green-and-Whites as well as playing eight games for the reserve team.
“Suitable financial solution”
“Diana came to us with the request for an early termination of our contractual relationship,” explained Ralf Kellermann, director of women’s football at VfL Wolfsburg. “We met her wish, not least because we also managed to agree a suitable financial solution with the management of RB Leipzig. We thank Diana for her efforts in the VfL shirt and wish her all the best for the future.”
