Contract extensions

Burmeister extends with the Lady-Wolves until 2019 / Youth-hopeful Loeck staying until 2021.

Jana Burmeister is to remain on with the Bundesliga ladies from VfL Wolfsburg for a further year. Following the completion of a long-term contract extension with German national team goalkeeper Almuth Schult, the Lady-Wolves have now secured the extended services of the keeper with the number 12 jersey, who celebrates her 29th birthday today (March 6th), for a further year, until 2019. "We are very happy to be holding on to Jana in Wolfsburg. In her reliability and character, she is a vitally important member of the team. Neither party need to consider the contract extension for long," explained Ralf Kellermann, Sporting director of women's football at VfL, on the extension of the deal with Burmeister, who signed to the Green-Whites from FF USV Jena in 2011.

Talented young keeper commits for the long-term

The VfL women can also build on the services of talented young goalkeeper Melina Loeck for a further three years, until 2021. The 17-year-old, who is already a member of the Under 23 squad, travelled to the Lady-Wolves training-camps last season and again this winter in Portugal. The plan is for Loeck to get some initial match-practice with the reserve team and, through training, become slowly introduced into head-coach Stephan Lerch' Bundesliga side.
