In addition to the signing of Katarzyna Kiedrzynek from Paris Saint-Germain and the impending departures of Jana Burmeister and Hedvig Lindahl, VfL Wolfsburg Women have confirmed further changes in the goalkeeping position. Melina Loeck is joining Swedish top-flight side Kristianstads DFF on loan until 31 December 2020. The 20-year-old, who has made 35 appearances for VfL reserves in Women’s Bundesliga 2 and 15 for the U17 team, is heading to the club from south Sweden to gain match experience.

Kassen turns pro

Meanwhile, Julia Kassen is moving up to the Green-and-Whites’ Bundesliga squad from the U20s. The 18-year-old keeper, who joined VfL from SV Meppen in 2018, has signed a contract until 30 June 2023. Kassen won the U17 German title in 2019 and made eight appearances for the second string during the cancelled 2019/20 season. The Germany U19 international has already had some experience with the first team at their winter training camp in Portugal.
