She was already German league champion, DFB Cup winner and the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga top goalscorer – and now Pernille Harder is the 2020 ‘Lower Saxony Footballer of the Year’. The vote is conducted by the Lower Saxony Football Association (NFV), and VfL’s Danish captain came out on top by a resounding majority. Harder picked up 66.7 per cent of the votes, followed by Martin Kobylanski (Eintracht Braunschweig/15.7 per cent) and Genki Haraguchi (Hannover 96/11.7 per cent).
“Proud and happy”
“I’m delighted and proud to have been chosen as Lower Saxony Footballer of the Year," Harder said. “It is a great recognition for me and for women’s football in general. I’m really happy that the development of our sport is being appreciated more and more. And of course, my thanks also go to the whole team.”
