VfL central-defender Babett Peter will be unavailable to the Lady-Wolves for several months, due to a ruptured Achilles tendon in her right heel. The extent of the injury was unveiled by an MRI-Scan on Monday. The defender will thus be side-lined for at least ten to twelve weeks, meaning she will no longer play for the Green-Whites for the remainder of this season. Peter incurred the injury during Germany's 0-1 defeat to the USA at the SheBelieves Cup and immediately returned home to Germany.
Wittje takes a knock
Junior international Meret Wittje has also made a premature return from duty with the German Under 19 national team. Wittje twisted an ankle in training and suffered an outer-ligament rupture. The 18-year-old will be unavailable to the Green-Whites for an estimated three to four weeks.
