The winter has hardly even started, but already the break is over for last season’s double-winners. On Wednesday, the Lady-Wolves, who went into their Christmas break as clear league leaders, get to work for the first time in 2018. Nilla Fischer, Lena Goeßling, Almuth Schult & Co. will first be put through their paces without the ball, with the obligatory lactate test on the schedule. The Green-Whites will then take to the training ground together for the first on Thursday, for the first team training session, which will take place at 15:00 CET on Elsterweg.

"The break was good, but it’s high time to get going again. We are all highly motivated and we want to pick up exactly where we left off last year," stated VfL coach Stephan Lerch, who, with the exception of Katharina Baunach, who is working individually, is expecting to have his complete squad at his disposal for the first session of the year. The Lady-Wolves will initially prepare for two weeks in Wolfsburg, before then heading off to their winter training-camp on January 24th. The first competitive action for the VfL women will be on February 11th, when they take on BV Cloppenburg in the rescheduled DFB-Cup ‘Round of 16’ tie. A week later, the Green-Whites then travel to TSG Hoffenheim, in the search for championship points.
