The VfL Wolfsburg development squad are up against Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-23 side on Monday evening.
The clash with Spurs is VfL’s second Premier League International Cup match to be held in England this year and will take place at the Lamex Stadium in Stevenage on Monday 3 December (kick-off 19:00 CET). Having beaten Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in their tournament opener in September, Ton Lokhoff’s side are looking to register another three points and move one step closer to a place in the quarter-finals. Reflecting on the victory over the Spanish outfit, Lokhoff said: “From the first minute against Bilbao, I saw a team that put into practice what we had worked on in training and discussed in terms of tactics. We were already 3-0 up at half-time, by which time the game was almost won. The performance was good, which made me really happy for the team. We want to build on that.”
The following VfL players have been named in the squad: Niklas Klinger, Jannes Tasche, Davide Itter, Robin Ziegele, Tim Siersleben, Gian-Luca Itter, Iba May, Paul Seguin, Yannik Möker, Soufiane Messeguem, Malcolm Badu, Felix Klaus, John Yeboah, Murat Saglam, Daniel Hanslik und Jesaja Herrmann.
