Environmental Management

Climate and environmental protection are very important to us. As part of our environmental policy, we act according to five defined principles. As one of the few clubs in the first and second divisions of the Bundesliga to do this, we even have our own environmental team that regularly monitors and controls all measures, with the help of an internal environmental management system. This enables us to work on issues systematically and to implement targeted climate and environmental protection measures. Our ultimate goal is to reduce our environmental impact and to continuously improve ourselves.

Our environmental policies:

• 1. Act together
  All our employees – whether they’re in administration or the licensing team – act as role models for our environment. Our managers are aware of their responsibilities and try to minimise the environmental risks associated with their business activities.

• 2. Environmental compliance
  We comply with legal requirements and follow our association standards and objectives.

• 3. Holistic environmental protection
  As a team, we interpret environmental protection in a holistic way. Together, we embrace targeted measures to minimise negative environmental impacts.

• 4. Transparency
  We deal with information in a transparent manner. Open dialogue between employees, fans, partners, authorities, and other stakeholders is a matter of course for us.

• 5. Continuous improvement
  Through our environmental and energy management system, we continuously contribute to improving our processes (planning – implementation – review – action).
