Wolves held by Magdeburg

VfL Wolfsburg played out a 1-1 draw with Bundesliga 2 outfit 1. FC Magdeburg.

The Wolves were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against 1. FC Magdeburg in a friendly on Thursday. In front of 1,512 spectators at the AOK Stadion, Robin Knoche nodded the hosts in front (21’) before Christian Beck restored parity for the second division side with a late header (84’). The Green-Whites return to Bundesliga action on Saturday 20 October when they welcome Bayern Munich to the Volkswagen Arena (kick-off 15:30 CEST).

“We didn’t close the game out”

VfL head coach Bruno Labbadia: “You could tell we’ve had some tough training sessions recently - we were lacking a bit of sharpness. We did really well in parts and managed to create opportunities, but ultimately the only thing lacking was the result. We didn’t close the game out, despite having enough chances to do so.”
