VfL Women showed no mercy to ATS Buntentor in the first round of the DFB Cup, winning 11-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The She-Wolves utterly dominated their third-tier hosts from the start. Head coach Stephan Lerch took the opportunity to give minutes to several players and they made the most of it, with no fewer than three VfL players making their competitive debut for Wolfsburg and five players enjoying their first competitive goal.

Caitlin Dijkstra was absent against Buntentor with a knock, but summer signing Guro Bergsvand was included in the squad for the very first time after recovering from injury and went straight into the starting line-up. She wasn’t the only one, with goalkeeper Martina Tufekovic, Smilla Vallotto, Kessya Bussy, Judit Pujols and U20 player Anny Kerim-Lindland also making their first starts. They replaced Stina Johannes, Janou Levels, Janina Minge, Ella Peddemors, Cora Zicai and Alexandra Popp, who were rested.
After an intensive and very successful week with three wins, VfL Women now have two days off before they return to training next week, at the end of which they travel to SGS Essen in the Bundesliga on Saturday 4 October (12:00 CEST).
