Germany win convincingly – Vivien Endemann on target

Germany’s national team opened their World Cup qualifying campaign with a commanding 5–0 victory over Slovenia in Dresden. Vivien Endemann delivered a standout performance and played a key role in the win: in addition to scoring the opener to make it 1–0 (6’), she also set up both the 2–0 (12’) and the final goal to make it 5–0 (71’). Camilla Küver was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, while Sarai Linder came on at the start of the second half. Stina Johannes and Janina Minge were also included in the squad but did not feature in the opening win. The team coached by national team head coach Christian Wück will continue their campaign next Saturday, 7 March (kick-off 18:00), with an away match in Norway.

Opening wins for Norway and France

Norway also celebrated three points to begin the international year. The Scandinavians secured a narrow 1–0 win away in Austria. Justine Kielland was brought on around 20 minutes before the final whistle, while Guro Bergsvand and Thea Bjelde remained unused. On Saturday, 7 March (kick-off 18:00), Norway will then face Germany. France also recorded an away victory, with Kessya Bussy’s side defeating Ireland 2–1. However, Bussy did not feature in the match.

Oranje held to a draw

The Netherlands and hosts Poland played out a 2–2 draw yesterday evening. Lineth Beerensteyn played 74 minutes, while Caitlin Dijkstra completed the full match. Janou Levels and Ella Peddemors were also included in the squad but did not feature. On the Polish side, Weronika Arasniewicz was also part of the squad but did not play.
