Two teams, one photo

VfL Wolfsburg men and women stand side by side in front of the camera for the first time.

A landmark moment at VfL Wolfsburg: for the first time, both of the Green-and-Whites’ professional teams posed in front of the camera for a bumper team photo at the Volkswagen plant.

Special setting for a special moment

The setting was just as extraordinary as the occasion as the two teams lined up shoulder to shoulder at Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg plant, framed in the iconic location. The men had previously had their photo taken, followed by the joint photo and then the women’s team picture. After a few minutes, the special moment was captured. Perfectly coordinating the 50 She-Wolves and Wolves was a real challenge, but the end result was a picture the like of which has never been seen before at VfL Wolfsburg.

“A strong sign of the unity of our teams”

“This photo is a strong sign of the unity of our teams,” emphasised VfL managing director for sport Peter Christiansen. “It shows what VfL Wolfsburg stands for: community, equality and the aspiration to be successful together. At the same time, it illustrates the close connection between the plant and the club – and the special role that Volkswagen plays for VfL. That backing is not just a great support for us, but also an incentive and motivation to do our best every day.”
