VfL Wolfsburg Women have prepared for the second half of the season in the Portuguese Algarve nine times before – and after two consecutive cancellations due to coronavirus, there’s nothing standing in the way of a tenth training camp at the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria this year. The trip to southern Europe from 11 to 20 January forms the core of the She-Wolves’ preparation period, which begins on 7 January with various performance tests. The first training session on the pitch of the new year is scheduled for 9 January.

A total of three friendlies are planned before VfL resume their league campaign away to SC Freiburg on Saturday 4 February 2023 (kick-off 14:00 CET). During the training camp in Portugal there’ll be a test against Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt on 18 January (kick-off 16:00 local time). Second division leaders RB Leipzig then visit the Stadion am Elsterweg on 24 January (kick-off 14:00 CET), with a final warm-up match against Swedish runners-up BK Häcken set to take place on 28 January at the AOK Stadion.
