She-Wolves on International Duty

16 VfL Wolfsburg (women) players in action in World Cup qualifiers and youth tournaments.

At the beginning of March, the first international break of the year is on the schedule for the women of VfL Wolfsburg. A total of 16 She-Wolves are representing their respective national teams. The focus is on the World Cup qualifiers, while three young players will also gain international experience at U19 level.

Five She-Wolves Called Up for Germany

With Stina Johannes, Camilla Küver, Sarai Linder, Janina Minge and Vivien Endemann, five VfL players have been called up to the German senior national team. The team will first host Slovenia in the World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday, March 3 (kick-off 5:45 p.m.) at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in Dresden. Four days later, on Saturday, March 7 (kick-off 6:00 p.m.), they will face Norway away at the Viking Stadion.

Sophia Kleinherne had to withdraw from the upcoming training camp due to a muscular injury.

Norway to Face Germany

There will be a direct clash between VfL teammates on March 7 (kick-off 6:00 p.m.): Justine Kielland, Thea Bjelde and Guro Bergsvand will take on Germany with Norway in the World Cup qualifiers. Prior to that, Norway will play away in Austria on March 3 (kick-off 6:00 p.m.).

Bussy with France, Dutch Trio in Action

Kessya Bussy will also compete in the World Cup qualifiers with France. The French side travels to Ireland on March 3 (kick-off 7:30 p.m.) before hosting Poland on March 7 (kick-off 9:10 p.m.). Three She-Wolves have been selected for the Netherlands: Lineth Beerensteyn, Caitlin Dijkstra and Ella Peddemors. The Oranje will first play away against Poland on March 3 (kick-off 6:00 p.m.) before hosting Ireland on March 7 (kick-off 8:45 p.m.).

Arasniewicz in Poland’s Senior Squad

Weronika Arasniewicz has also been called up to Poland’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers. Poland will host the Netherlands on March 3 (kick-off 6:00 p.m.) and travel to France on March 7 (kick-off 9:10 p.m.).

VfL Talents at U19 Tournaments

VfL players are also representing their countries at youth level. Anny Kerim-Lindland will compete with Norway’s U19 team at a friendly tournament in Spain, facing Denmark on March 3 and France on March 6. U19 player Maja Zielinska will play two friendlies against Italy (March 4 and 7), both away from home. Nelly Smolarczyk is also in action with Germany’s U19 team at a friendly tournament in Spain. The German junior side will face Sweden on March 3 and Italy on March 6.
