VfL Wolfsburg Women took another step towards lifting the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga trophy thanks to a 5-1 triumph away to SGS Essen, continuing their winning run in the 2022 calendar year.
Dominique Janssen struck twice for the Green-and-Whites, while Ewa Pajor, Tabea Waßmuth and Sandra Starke were also on target in front of 942 spectators at the Stadion Essen. The victory in the Ruhr region cements the She-Wolves’ position at the league summit and edges them ever closer to lifting the title.
Indeed, if VfL win away to FC Carl Zeiss Jena on Sunday 8 May (kick-off 16:00 CEST), they will wrap up their seventh championship.
