Relegation play-off: Ticket sales start before opponents are confirmed

First leg at the Volkswagen Arena on 21 May.

VfL Wolfsburg will battle to stay in the Bundesliga in the relegation play-off. The first leg will take place at the Volkswagen Arena on Thursday, 21 May. Kick-off is at 8.30pm. The return leg will be played away at the second-division side on Whit Monday, 25 May (8.30pm). Wolfsburg’s opponents will only be decided on the final matchday of Bundesliga 2 on 17 May. Currently, SV Elversberg, Hannover 96 and SC Paderborn (all on 59 points) are still in contention.

Season tickets automatically taken into account

Ticket sales for the first leg will begin before the final opponents are confirmed. Season tickets remain valid for the play-off match. From Sunday, 17 May at 11.45am, season-ticket holders will initially have the opportunity to purchase additional tickets via the online ticket shop. At the same time, ticket offices 11 to 14 at the Volkswagen Arena will be open during the women’s home match against 1. FC Nürnberg (kick-off 2pm). Existing customers can also purchase tickets at the fan shop in the Fanhaus, by phone via the service centre on 0536/8903 903 (Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm), and via form submission (only for the match against Hannover 96). A maximum of ten tickets can be booked per transaction. The relegation play-off match is classified in price category 4.

Different sales phases will apply depending on the opponents:

  • If VfL face SV Elversberg or SC Paderborn, there will be a general sale. In this case, alongside season-ticket holders, WölfeClub members will also gain access from 17 May before the general sale begins on Tuesday, 19 May.

  • If VfL are drawn against Hannover 96, there will be no general sale. Sales will begin exclusively for season-ticket holders on 17 May, with WölfeClub members gaining access from Tuesday, 19 May.

Stadium allocation depends on the opponents

  • Against Hannover 96, almost the entire arena will be designated as a home section, with the exception of the away section and Block 52.

  • Against SC Paderborn or SV Elversberg, the North-West, North and Wölfi Curve sections will be designated as home areas, while the East Stand and South-West sections will serve as neutral zones.

Return leg on Whit Monday

Tickets for the return leg away at the second-division side will initially be available to season-ticket holders from Monday, 18 May at 12.45pm. Further sales phases will depend on the opponents and ticket availability. More information will follow immediately after the final decision in Bundesliga 2.
