“Ready to Take on Responsibility”

Interview: Weronika Arasniewicz on earning a permanent place in the VfL Women’s first-team squad.

A new chapter is beginning for Weronika Arasniewicz with the VfL Wolfsburg Women: The Poland international has been promoted to the club’s permanent Frauen-Bundesliga squad. Having progressed through the youth ranks and gained her first experience in the senior setup, the young midfielder is looking ahead to the challenges to come with great excitement. In this interview, the 18-year-old talks about her reaction to the news, her development in Wolfsburg and her goals for the future.

Weronika Arasniewicz, you are now officially a permanent member of the VfL Women’s first-team squad. What does this step mean to you?

Weronika Arasniewicz: It means a great deal to me and gives me even more motivation. It shows me that my hard work and commitment have been recognised. For me, this marks the beginning of a new chapter, and I’m ready to take on responsibility, keep improving every day and help the team achieve its goals.

Looking back on your journey with VfL Wolfsburg so far, what comes to mind?

Weronika: Above all, I think about all the hard work, the patience and the support I’ve received along the way. It hasn’t always been easy, but every experience has helped me grow. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and grateful to the people who believed in me.

You’ve developed steadily over the past few years. Which experiences have helped you the most?

Weronika: Training at a high level, learning from experienced teammates and facing new challenges every day in a high-performance environment have helped me enormously. They’ve allowed me to develop both as a player and as a person.

Despite your young age, you’re already part of the Poland senior national team. What does that mean to you?

Weronika: It means an incredible amount to me. Wearing the national team shirt has always been a dream of mine, so I’m very proud to already be part of the senior national team. I’m grateful for the opportunity and see it as a huge motivation to keep working on improving myself.

What have been the biggest differences for you between the second team and the senior professional environment?

Weronika: The biggest differences are the intensity and the attention to detail. At senior level, everything is faster, more physical and more precise. You have to make decisions more quickly, and the demands are extremely high every single day.

What are you looking forward to most in your first season as a permanent member of the first-team squad?

Weronika: Above all, I’m looking forward to continuing to develop and learn every day in a professional environment. I want to gain experience, improve my game and help the team whenever I get the opportunity.

What personal goals have you set yourself for the period ahead?

Weronika: My main focus is on my development rather than short-term expectations. I want to become more consistent in my performances, improve every aspect of my game and establish myself further in the professional environment.

You’ve made the journey from the youth ranks to the first team. What advice would you give to young players who dream of doing the same?

Weronika: My advice is to pay attention to the small details every day. You have to work hard, stay disciplined and not let setbacks discourage you. Development isn’t always a straight line, but consistency is what makes the difference in the end.
