Next gifted youngster joins VfL Women

Poland youth international Weronika Arasniewicz has agreed a move to the She-Wolves.

Poland youth international Weronika Arasniewicz has joined VfL Wolfsburg Women on loan from FC Barcelona and will initially form part of the U20 team in the Women’s Bundesliga second division. The clubs agreed a one-year loan, with VfL possessing an option to make the deal permanent.

Pre-season with the first team

The 17-year-old midfielder began her career at the Diamenty Warszawa youth academy before a summer 2024 move to Barcelona, where she gained experience in the club’s B and C teams. In 2024, Arasniewicz took part at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup and the UEFA U17 European Championship with Poland, while she also made three appearances at the UEFA U18 EURO earlier this year. The plan in Wolfsburg is for her – alongside fellow U20 squad members Anny-Kerim Lindland and Maja Zielinska – to join the first team’s pre-season preparations this summer. “Weronika is a hugely gifted player and she had a trial with us in Wolfsburg last year,” said Ralf Kellermann, director of Women’s football at VfL. “We want to offer her the opportunity to take the step up to the first-team squad with us. For now, however, we’re pleased that she’s joined our U20 team.”
