VfL Wolfsburg have signed Dutch centre-back Jenson Seelt on loan from newly promoted Premier League side Sunderland. The 22-year-old has been given the number 14 shirt.
Spell in England
Seelt, who stands at 1.95m tall, has made 26 competitive appearances for Sunderland’s first and U21 sides. He came through the youth ranks at PSV Eindhoven but mainly played for the club’s reserves, making 63 appearances in the Dutch second division. He registered seven goals and two assists during that time.
“A great addition to our defence”
“We’re really pleased to have brought in another defender in Jenson Seelt,” said VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “He’s a tall central defender with experience of playing in England. Jenson is strong with and without the ball and is a great addition to our defence. We’re pleased that Jenson’s now a member of our team.”
“I want to develop my strengths”
Seelt is just as excited by his new challenge with the Wolves. “I’m happy to be in Wolfsburg now,” he said. “I want to develop my strengths at VfL and help the team be successful. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and am looking forward to getting started in the Bundesliga.”
